The Oksana-Hiner Collaboration

Two Russian Muses Make Their Dream Come True.

Hellene Hiner and Oksana Kolesnikova announce their recent collaboration with the promotion of the piano instructional software program, ‘Soft Way to Mozart.’ Soft Mozart is an innovative way to teach piano created by Hiner. Oksana, a celebrated pianist and composer, teaches piano, has begun to promote this product and plans to spread its educational methods across the world. Hellene Hiner, an accomplished musicologist, piano teacher and founder of Do Re Mi Fa Soft Company created the Soft Mozart instructional piano program to teach children of all ages how to play piano and read music scores in a fun way.

After Hiner watched her daughter play video games repeatedly, the idea of the teaching piano through the use of a computer game came to mind. Ultimate interactivity and ingenious approach of developing eye focus to read music score with computer graphics, allows children of all ages (and adults too) to learn how to play piano and read music effectively and fast! In an interview with About.com, Hiner comments she wanted to create something that would help the average person learn how to read music successfully. This aspiration comes from learning how to read music on her own as a young child; knowing how difficult this task can be, she developed Soft Mozart.

The Soft Mozart program teaches piano gradually and in a both natural and entertaining way. Through various exercises in the form of computer games, students develop the skills that allow them to read music proficiently. Her program has schooled several young children (as young as 3) that have learned how to read music and play even before they know their ABCs. National artist of Russia, pianist performer Yuri Rozum called the innovation ‘the missing visual link in music education’. The Hiner’s system was also endorsed by a Moscow conservatory named after Peter Tchaikovsky.

Hiner's collaboration with Oksana is a remarkable one. As two accomplished musicians and piano teachers, both women inspire and educate a large variety of individuals to play the beloved instrument, the piano. They both came from Russia, where music education was nurtured and developed thoroughly for several centuries.

Hiner's method of teaching music literacy is based on the best traditions of Russian music school and on the major achievements in education and pedagogy worldwide. This curriculum allows students to develop a solid music background as well as extensive practice, which lead to the fast results that Soft Mozart users see. Soft Mozart, with the promotion from Oksana and other accomplished pianists, can change the future of music by encouraging and inspiring new generations of individuals to enjoy and play classical music.

These two remarkable women came to the United States to make a difference in culture and education. They are planning to promote music literacy in public and private schools, day care centers and other educational institutions.
